The Scream and Other News

THE SCREAM

Several weeks ago our son, Jeff, visited us. We had a fun weekend with family birthday parties and the kind of humor that only happens when our three sons start riffing.  We laughed a lot.

His flight back to New Jersey was delayed two days due to a predicted blizzard, so Jeff accompanied Tom to see Dr. Sindt in the pain clinic.  While waiting, Jeff drew this memorable version of Munch’s “The Scream” on the whiteboard. If you have ever waited in a small room for a doctor, you get it.  Or maybe this picture is how those of you in Boston feel about the mounting snowbanks.  Seahawks fan in distress?  Whatever meaning you bring to this, you now understand how much Jeff’s visits mean to Tom in his fight against cancer.

IN OTHER NEWS . . .

Last week Tom journeyed to Washington DC to participate in interesting and informative discussions regarding his company’s government relations effort.  He was happy to be among his colleagues again  He thanks the GR team and his friends across the company who were involved. Here is a photo of Tom and  Ed Van Dolsen who has reached out to Tom many times to encourage him in his fight. Thank you, Ed!

Yesterday Tom enjoyed a nice visit from David Beer, a longtime friend from our Chicago days. Dave is an avid runner and always adds #rughsolidarity to his IG and Facebook feed. Dave says Tom is a warrior.  That he is.  Looking good, guys.
